On-Prem PACS

On-Prem PACS

Imaging, storage, and reporting — all inside the hospital's own network. Modalities send local DICOM, RIS/HL7 matches worklists on the LAN, the On-Prem PACS server stores and indexes in-house, RAID keeps data on-site with nightly backup, and radiologists read on reporting workstations — with optional offsite DR.

  • Full stack inside the hospital network perimeter
  • Modality DICOM ingest (CT / MR / US) on the local LAN
  • RIS / HL7 worklist matching on-site
  • On-Prem PACS server: store + index with on-site security
  • Local RAID storage with nightly backup — works offline
  • Reporting workstations for on-site reading; optional offsite DR
How does On-Prem PACS work — modality, RIS/HL7 worklist, on-prem server, local RAID storage, and reporting workstations inside the hospital network

Powerful Features for Modern Healthcare

On-site archive performance with hospital-network control.

Modality ingest

CT, MR, US and other modalities send local DICOM studies into the hospital network path.

RIS / HL7 worklist

Orders and demographics are matched on the local LAN so acquisition stays aligned with scheduled exams.

On-Prem PACS server

Store and index studies in-house with on-site security controls inside your data center.

Local RAID storage

Keep imaging on hospital hardware with nightly backup — the archive continues to work offline when the internet is down.

Reporting workstations

Radiologists read on-site with Workstation or departmental viewers connected over the LAN.

Optional offsite DR

All primary data stays on hospital hardware; backups can be replicated offsite for disaster recovery when required.

Who On-Prem PACS is for

Designed for healthcare organizations that need reliable, scalable medical image management.

Hospitals with local IT policy

Keep PHI under full institutional control and meet data-residency rules without depending on the public internet for daily operations.

High-throughput imaging centers

Keep archive and retrieval on the LAN next to modalities and reading rooms for predictable performance — even during internet outages.

Hybrid & DR-ready sites

Run active imaging on-prem while optionally replicating backups offsite for disaster recovery, or connecting to Cloud PACS / VNA when needed.

Security & data residency

Perimeter deployment, local storage, and optional offsite DR.

On-site data residency

Keep primary imaging archives inside your hospital network perimeter.

Local RAID & backup

Nightly backup policies and redundant storage for clinical continuity.

Network access controls

AE allowlists, VLAN-friendly deployment, and audited DICOM services.

Pricing

License price is based on Web Connections and DICOM Connections — a one-time purchase, not a subscription.

PING DICOM On-Prem PACS pricing is based on the number of Web Connections and DICOM Connections.

This license price is for a one-time purchase, not for a subscription.

License price

(Web Connections × unit price) + (DICOM Connections × unit price)

Web Connection

Minimum order is 1

Web Connection means the maximum number of users that can access the DICOM viewer at the same time. You typically size it for the PC/tablet count used at peak time — not every device you own.

  • Concurrent viewer access at peak time
  • Lower cost than licensing every workstation
  • Scale connections as usage grows

DICOM Connection

Minimum order is 1

DICOM Connection means the number of medical imaging devices (CR, CT, etc.) and software (third-party DICOM viewers, and similar) that connect to the PACS using DICOM communication. This is the number you register — not concurrent sessions.

  • Modalities such as CR, CT, MR, US
  • Third-party DICOM viewers and stations
  • Registered endpoints, not peak concurrency

Examples

Example 1: For a clinic

Usage environment

  • 5 client PCs: always use 3 + occasionally use 2
  • 2 medical devices: CR and US
  • No third-party DICOM viewer

License details

  • 4 Web Connections: 3 always-on + 1 occasional
  • 2 DICOM Connections

Example 2: For a small hospital

Usage environment

  • 10 client PCs always in use + 10 occasional PCs/tablets
  • 4 medical devices: CR, CT, US, and ES
  • 1 third-party DICOM viewer

License details

  • 20 Web Connections
  • 5 DICOM Connections: 4 modalities + 1 viewer

Annual support

License price includes the first year of support. From the second year onward, annual support continues the following benefits:

  • Free upgrade to new major versions
  • License reactivation assistance
  • Preferential email support
